i'm at work right now, on my lunch break, and since i just had to sit at the lake in the pouring rain for 2 hours, i think i deserve and extended break.

work sucks. it really really does. at least i'm getting paid over $10/hr for working this weekend.

steph comes home tomorrow and i'm soooo excited to see her...i don't think i've ever gone this long without seeing her (6 weeks) and being home sucks without her, so i can't wait till she gets home. having her around is like having a built-in best friend at home all the time...i can talk to her about so much stuff that i feel weird talking to some of my best friends about...i don't know what i'm going to do without her @ school...

last night i saw rachel for the last time before i leave because she's going to ireland with her family and isnt getting back until after i'm gone. it was weird to have to say good bye to her, especially since we've grown so close over the past 2 years. she wrote me a letter basically saying that she hopes we stay close even with the distance between us...i'm not worried about my relationship with her because i know that we'll keep in touch, unlike some other people...

ok i should get back to work...i'll add more tonight.

so this is it....i'm officially xangafied. i bet i'm the only white jewish girl on xanga, but i'm still super-excited. xanga is the coolest thing ever, no matter what anyone says. period.

so today after i got home from work, my aunt and cousin stopped by. this was especially unexpected because they live in westchester (almost 2 hours from princeton) so i was shocked to see them when i answered the door. since i'm leaving for ATL in less than 2 weeks (ahh scary!) they figured today would be a good day to say 'good bye' since they were in the area visiting a friend of my aunt's.

the three of us decide to take cody for a walk to littlebrook, my old elementary school, so jess (who is 3 years old) can play on the jungle gym and swings and stuff. on the way there, my aunt and i had this conversation about how little kids get excited over the the smallest things, but it takes something really complex and rare to entice adults. for example, we passed by a red fire hydrant with a white top and jess thought it was the coolest thing ever because the ones where she lives are yellow with red tops. another example was yesterday when i was at andrea's graduation party. her little cousin was there and he was obsessed with ceiling fans. it was the funniest thing ever...every room he went into, he would just stare at the fan for like 10 minutes, completely enthralled.

i wish i could still be so easily satisfied. life would be so much less complicated if i didn't need a laptop or an mp3 player or a car to be happy but reality is that the older we get, the more we take the simple things in life for granted.

ahh i'm getting all philosophical and this is only my first xanga entry...what's wrong with me?!?

ok well its 12:22 and i have to wake up at 7:15 for work tomorrow...grrr...so i'm going to bed.

g'night all.
